The A. Flores Gran Reserva Maduro also hails from Abe Flores’s (PDR Cigars) factory in Tamboril, Dominican Republic. As with its lighter sister line, these cigars are crafted entirely by hand and undergo a very rigorous selection process. The difference lies in the dark, richly fermented Maduro wrapper, which lends the cigar greater depth, sweetness and roasted notes. The result is a characterful yet smooth smoking profile with warm notes of cocoa, coffee and spice.

Full-bodied, well-rounded, with natural sweetness

The Gran Reserva Maduro is aimed at aficionados who enjoy a medium-to-full-bodied cigar where body and aromatic richness take centre stage. The dark wrapper brings a lovely Maduro sweetness, complemented by earthy and chocolatey notes. The Dominican-Nicaraguan tobacco blend provides structure, a hint of peppery spice and a long finish. As it develops, notes of dark chocolate, espresso, dark wood, molasses and subtle spice emerge – ideal for connoisseurs who prefer something a little darker and richer, without the cigar ever tasting bitter or harsh.

Flavour: Cocoa, espresso, dark cedar, molasses/liquorice, earthy base, with a hint of pepper and roasted notes on the finish
Burn: Even burn, firm ash, very good draw thanks to precise hand-rolling
