DESCRIPTION

This is an authentic, handmade purera from Ubrique, Spain. What we now know as a cigar case has its origins a very long time ago in the small village of Ubrique. Originally, leather pouches were made to carry contraband tobacco on horseback through the Andalusian mountains to the north. They crafted these pouches and fastened them beneath the horses they rode. Over time, they evolved into their present form: the cigar case. They are still handmade in Ubrique by the same families of artisans who have been crafting these beautiful cases for years.

When Caldwell learnt of this story, they were determined to have their own cigar cases made in Ubrique to mark their 10th anniversary. They are crafted slowly from naturally tanned leather and without the use of chemicals.
