CAO Cameroon Perfecto is a small but incredibly elegant cigar – perfect if you want to experience a wealth of flavour in a short space of time. The classic Perfecto format, with tapered ends, ensures a focused start and a lovely development as soon as the cigar ‘opens up’ in the smoke. The highlight is the African Cameroon wrapper: finely veined, reddish-brown and renowned for its natural sweetness. Combined with an earthy, spicy Nicaraguan blend, the result is a smoke that feels astonishingly complex – without being heavy or aggressive.

Cameroon meets Nicaragua: balance rather than intensity

For this range, CAO relies on a high-quality Cameroon wrapper from Africa, complementing it with a binder and filler from Nicaragua. It is precisely this interplay that is often described as ‘yin and yang’: The sweet, spicy wrapper brings elegance and a gentle sweetness, whilst the Nicaraguan tobaccos provide body, roasted notes and depth. The result is a mild to medium-bodied cigar that doesn’t overwhelm, yet reveals new nuances with every puff.

Perfecto format: short, concentrated, exciting

At 4" in length and a ring gauge of 48, this Perfecto is deliberately compact – ideal for a break, an espresso or as a ‘little luxury’ in between. The conical shape concentrates the flavours particularly intensely during the first few puffs. As soon as the diameter widens, the smoke becomes noticeably creamier and fuller-bodied. It is precisely this transition that makes the CAO Cameroon Perfecto so enjoyable: a precise start, followed by greater body and a rounded, pleasantly long finish.

Flavour profile: espresso, cocoa, nuts & subtle spice

In terms of flavour, you can look forward to dry wood/cedar, roasted nuts and a lovely coffee/espresso note. Added to this are cocoa or dark chocolate and a subtle peppery spice that tends to remain in the background. Overall, the profile feels very balanced – no ‘sugar’, but a natural, elegant sweetness, as one would expect from good Cameroon. No wonder the range received such high ratings straight after its launch.
