The blend is cold-pressed for four weeks after being mixed, and only then sliced. This ensures a noticeably rounded, well-integrated flavour profile and a pleasantly smooth smoking experience. Inside the tin you’ll find dark to medium-brown flakes or plug slices that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways: folded completely (‘fold & stuff’) for a long, cool session, or gently rubbed out for easier lighting and a slightly livelier start.

Virginia meets Perique: naturally sweet, fruity and spicy

At the heart of the blend are various grades of Virginia, which give it its natural sweetness and the typical ‘bready/toasty’ undertone. The small amount of Perique noticeably lifts the blend: not as a sharp, overpowering note, but as an elegant spice with dark fruitiness (often rose-like or plum-like) and a subtle, peppery tingle in the background. Practical for everyday use: as a flake, this tobacco offers plenty of flexibility. Those who prefer a slower, cooler smoke can fold the flake and pack it loosely into the bowl. Those who prefer a simpler approach can rub the flake apart – this makes it easier to light and ensures a more even burn. Allowing it to air for a short while before packing (a few minutes) can also make lighting it easier. The room aroma remains rather natural and tobacco-like, with a subtle, spicy-fruity note – pleasant, but distinctly ‘pure tobacco’.
