The CLE 5-Cigar Robusto Sampler offers a varied journey of discovery through Christian Luiz Eiroa’s portfolio. It contains five hand-rolled premium cigars in the popular Robusto format: C.L.E. 25th Anniversary, Connecticut, Criollo, Corojo and Maduro. Although all the cigars are similar in size, they differ significantly in terms of wrapper, tobacco blend, intensity and aroma. Ranging from creamy and nutty to earthy and spicy, right through to dark chocolate and espresso, the sampler impressively demonstrates just how versatile the C.L.E. style can be. This makes the selection ideal both for getting to know the brand and for directly comparing different blends.

The Connecticut opens the milder end of the range. Its Ecuador-Connecticut wrapper combines with Honduran tobaccos to produce creamy notes of roasted nuts, leather and subtle spices. The Criollo is spicier and woodier, whilst the Corojo showcases the classic Honduran character with earthy notes, black pepper, oak, coffee and a subtle vanilla sweetness. The Maduro is noticeably darker. Its Mexican San Andrés wrapper brings cocoa, espresso, leather, pepper and a pleasant tobacco sweetness into play.

From creamy Connecticut to the robust anniversary cigar

The C.L.E. 25th Anniversary occupies a special place in the sampler. It was developed in honour of Christian Eiroa’s 25 years in the cigar industry and is made entirely from Honduran tobaccos. The box-pressed Robusto offers roasted notes, nuts, chocolate and spicy accents. Together with the four other blends, this creates a broad spectrum of flavours. Precisely because the cigars are similar in size, the differences between the various wrappers and tobacco blends can be compared particularly well.
