Corrida Honduras Robusto+

A cigar with character

So, now Villiger has its own version of Camacho too – that was our first thought when we saw the boxes. The branding for the Corrida cigars features a concept just as striking as that of Camacho.

With Camacho, it’s the scorpion, and here it’s a bull, intended to symbolise the strength and wildness of the blend. The slogan is ‘Anything but gentle’. The cigars are produced by the Plasencias in Danlí, Honduras. The wrapper is a Honduran Jalapa, whilst the binder consists of a Seco from La Vega, also in Honduras. The filler is composed of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos, including a Seco from Jamastran, another Seco from Estelí and a robust Ligero from Jalapa.

Full-bodied and intense

This blend is full-bodied and offers an intense tobacco flavour. In addition to this full-bodied variant, there is also a ‘yellow’ variant from the Dominican Republic, which you can find here: Corrida Cigars Dominican Republic. Since April 2018, the blue Nicaragua and the green Brazil have been introduced, meaning there are now a total of four different lines of Corrida cigars.

This range is now produced at the company’s own Tabacalera Villiger de Nicaragua, although the tobaccos used continue to come from Plasencia.
