Davidoff Year of the Dragon 2024

For the twelfth year running, Davidoff is releasing a limited edition to celebrate the Chinese New Year in style. With this launch, Davidoff completes, for the first time, a full zodiac cycle that began in 2013 with the Snake. The Dragon is the largest and most important sign in the entire zodiac calendar. Davidoff reflects this in the impressively large format of the Double Corona cigar.

Eight different tobaccos in one cigar

The Year of the Dragon Double Corona cigar, with its multi-origin blend, surprises aficionados with an uncut foot, which not only evokes the image of a fire-breathing dragon but also creates a fascinating shift in flavour. This medium-bodied cigar combines eight different tobacco varieties with a combined age of 60 years, thereby demonstrating Davidoff’s expertise in blending and rolling.

A feast for the palate

The first third

The uncut foot of the cigar delivers notes of earth, wood and herbs. As soon as the wrapper takes the lead, the flavour transforms into rich notes of nuts, cream and liquorice.

The second third

The intensity increases in the second third, with notes of sweet honey, white pepper and citrus dominating.

The third third

Fresh spices and oak complement the dominant notes of dark chocolate.

A box for collectors

This limited edition comes in an impressive box containing ten cigars. The entire top features an iridescent lacquered dragon-scale pattern. The striking Year of the Dragon symbol in the centre holds a pearl, which in Chinese culture symbolises wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. Inside the box is a wooden tray with two compartments for the cigars, separated by a silky red ribbon. This symbolises the dragon’s tongue.
