DESCRIPTION
The A. Flores Serie Privada SP54 brings the series’ elegant and aromatic character to a generous Toro size. This premium cigar is crafted under the supervision of Master Blender Abe Flores at PDR Cigars in the Dominican Republic. The high-quality Ecuadorian Habano wrapper gives it an attractive reddish-brown appearance and complements the blend with a subtle spiciness. Compared to the more compact SP52, the longer Toro vitola offers the flavours more space to develop. Coffee, cocoa, wood and a slight sweetness combine with leather, spices and creamy nuances to create a harmonious smoking experience.
A. Flores Serie Privada SP54 in Toro format
The SP54 measures 6 inches, or around 152 mm, and has a ring gauge of 54. It thus offers a balanced ratio between length and diameter. The characteristic box-pressed shape gives it an angular appearance and emphasises the boutique character of the series. Due to its slightly larger tobacco volume, the Toro burns more slowly than the SP52. The various flavour nuances are given more time to blend together, whilst the smoke remains pleasantly full-bodied and balanced. The strength is medium, offering a good balance between flavour intensity and approachability.
Balanced roasted flavours and creamy sweetness
As the cigar is smoked, coffee, cocoa and cedar take centre stage. At the start, spicy and slightly peppery notes may emerge, which gradually blend with creamy undertones. Roasted nuts, leather and a subtle natural sweetness round off the profile. The further the cigar progresses, the more rounded the roasted flavours become. The Toro format in particular supports a smooth development and ensures that stronger and milder components complement each other in perfect balance.
Dominican cigar craftsmanship from PDR
PDR Cigars relies on experienced torcedores and traditional production techniques. The Privada series is one of Abe Flores’ best-known ranges and stands for carefully crafted, flavour-intensive premium cigars. The SP54 is particularly suited to aficionados who want a little more smoking time than a Robusto offers, without immediately opting for a particularly large size. Its harmonious blend of coffee, cocoa, wood, subtle spice and a creamy texture makes it a versatile Toro for moments of relaxed enjoyment.
