DESCRIPTION
El Baton is one of J.C. Newman’s historic brands, created by the company’s founder, J.C. Newman, in 1914. This nickel-sized cigar was originally hand-rolled in a factory in Cleveland, Ohio, using Cuban tobacco. Although it remained popular for many years, El Baton disappeared from the market in the 1920s with the advent of machine-made cigars. In 2008, J.C.’s grandsons, Eric and Bobby Newman, relaunched the brand as the company’s first Nicaraguan cigar. El Baton cigars are grown in the most fertile regions of Nicaragua and offer a smooth, full-bodied smoke with a hint of spice. Upon its debut, the El Baton was available in just one size: the Double Torpedo. Since then, the brand has expanded to include three further sizes: a Double Toro, a Robusto and a Belicoso. Its return was met with rave reviews and acclaim from a wide range of cigar enthusiasts, including a 91-point rating from Cigar Aficionado.

Aromareich, konzentriert
Anfangs hatte sie ein bisschen Startschwierigkeiten, und musste etwas korrigiert werden, als es dann aber danach friedlicher zu und her ging, behielt sie den 5. Stern :-)
Sie ist sicher mittelstark, eher stark. Die Aromen sind von Start an richtig intensiv, also wuchtig, aber mit einer, nach meiner Empfindung, komplexität, die ich eigentlich nur von teureren Maduros kenne. Die Hauptaromen sind Erde, Holz, Leder, später Schokolade und Caramelle. Kein "Flavored" hässliches Caramelle, sondern richtig gut. Ab und an ein Hauch Gras ist auch an Board.
Ich bin jedenfalls sehr zufrieden und würde sie wiederkaufen.
