Every single Flor de Selva cigar must therefore meet the highest standards of quality and enjoyment before it is permitted to leave the Maya Selva Cigars premises. Aficionados can look forward to cigars of the finest craftsmanship and exceptional flavour. This is also confirmed by various awards.
Only Honduran tobaccos from the Danli region are used for the filler. The binder comes from Honduras. A Connecticut Shade wrapper rounds off this visual and flavourful delight. The cigars are not overpowering, yet offer a full-bodied and aromatic smoke.
Maya – the woman behind Flor de Selva cigars
With a mother from France and a father from Honduras, Maya grew up in Tegucigalpa and returned to France at the age of sixteen to study. After secondary school, she trained as an engineer, attended the Ecole Internationale des Sciences du Traitement de l’Information – School of Engineering (EISTI) and completed her studies in the United States with a Master of Science. As she was not yet ready to commit to a specific career, she returned to Honduras in 1991 to explore various opportunities, particularly those related to tobacco.
MAYA rolled up her sleeves and spent over a year learning how cigars are made in Danlí, Honduras – from A to Z, she eagerly familiarised herself with every single parameter important to the production of a high-quality cigar.
Her meeting with Nestor Plasencia, a renowned tobacco grower and cigar maker, proved to be decisive. Together with him, Maya Selva defined a set of very strict specifications for the production and quality of her cigars in 1994. And in 1995, the first box bearing the FLOR DE SELVA brand went on sale in France. The new puros quickly found favour with European aficionados. As early as 1997, the Flor de Selva Robusto was described as a classic by the magazine L’Amateur de Cigare!

Sehr Gut aber nicht perfekt
Ich teile die vorherigen Bewertungen. Es ist eine sehr ausgewogene, für den Preis angemessene Zigarre. Im gleichen Preissegment gibt es zahlreiche die quasi gleich sind, oder sogar noch runder im Aroma. Ich glaube der Kern ist, dass sich diese Zigarre nicht abhebt, zwar gut ist, aber auch wie die anderen, die auch gut sind. Mich jedenfalls hat sie nicht fesseln können, und auch wiederbestellen würde ich die nicht.
Da bevorzuge ich lieber eine Flor de Copan, welche günstiiger und viel spannender ist. Aber wie gesagt, Preissegment ist schon korrekt, jedoch "wie jede andere"

Rundum sympathisch
Klein, fein, delikat. So viel Aroma bei so zurückhaltender Stärke, das erlebt man selten. Handwerklich fast perfekt.

Leicht und bekömmlich, dennoch aromatisch
Guter Abbrand und gutes Zugverhalten. Leicht und bekömmlich, dennoch aromatisch. Nicht aufdringlich, gut ausbalancierter Blend. Es gibt ein Wechselspiel der Aromen zwischen etwas mehr Intensität und würze, zu leicht und cremig im Laufe des Rauchverlaufs. Ich konnte die Zigarre bis hinter die Bauchbinde rauchen und sie wurde nicht bitter. Einziges Makel war ein Riss, der sich schnell am Deckblatt beim anschneiden der Zigarre gebildet hat. Es kann aber auch an meinen Cutter gelegen haben. :-) C.D.

Gut, aber wirklich gut? Geschmacksache
Sehr leckere, erdige pfeffrige Zigarre mit super Rauch verhalten und super für einsteiger! Schöne Aromatik, würde ich aber nicht neu kaufen nochmals.

Was wird hier gewünscht ?????
Das Set finde ich sehr gut. Hat es verschiedene Längen. Geschmack ändert sich .Robusto ist einfach Robusto !!!!

Mild und trotzdem aromatisch
Die Zigarre ist sehr schön verarbeitet, mit einem angenehmen Zugverhalten und sehr gutem Abbrand. Zu Beginn cremig, leicht pfeffrig und erdig im Geschmack. Im Verlauf wird sie holziger und erdiger. Durch die ganze Zigarre ist sie angenehm mild, leicht süsslich und trotzdem aromatisch und nicht langweilig. Sie ist sehr angenehm zu rauchen und hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt - kann ich definitiv weiterempfehlen (auch für Einsteiger).
