Gilbert de Montsalvat Anniversary Gran Robusto

In his 1999 story ‘The Pope of Geneva’, the author Thomas Brunnschweiler created the character of Gilbert de Montsalvat. When Raymondo Bernasconi, owner of ‘The Royal Cigar Company’, read the story one gloomy Sunday, he was initially rather depressed. The hero of the story could neither smell nor taste anything. But perhaps that was precisely the message: trust your own judgement, don’t listen to cigar gurus!

The Birth of Gilbert de Montsalvat Cigars

On 1 April 2008, the Gilbert de Montsalvat brand was officially launched. The stories by and about Gilbert are always told with a touch of irony, which sets them apart from the promotional material of other brands.
The Gilbert Anniversary cigar is part of the regular range and is identical to the ‘10 Years Anniversary’ edition, which was available in limited-edition boxes to mark the 10th anniversary of Gilbert de Montsalvat.

Roasted aromas with bitter almonds
