Henry Clay
DESCRIPTION
The Henry Clay War Hawk cigar range pays tribute to the American statesman Henry Clay, who was known in the early 19th century as a leading ‘War Hawk’ and was a key driving force behind the War of 1812. These cigars deliberately break with the brand’s tradition by using a luxurious Ecuador Connecticut wrapper instead of the usual Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. This envelops a Broadleaf binder and a carefully aged blend of Honduran long-filler tobaccos.
Delicate flavours and structure
The result is a medium-bodied smoking experience with perfectly balanced flavours of roasted almonds, nutmeg, earth, cocoa and citrus fruits, with a subtle sweetness and a peppery finish.
The cigar’s excellent construction ensures an even burn and an effortless draw, further enhancing the smoking experience.
95 points in Cigar Aficionado
The Henry Clay War Hawk was awarded 95 points by Cigar Aficionado and named the #10 cigar of 2020. The review highlights: “The cigar unfolds notes of citrus, spices and nutmeg. The flavours are bright and lively, with an underlying strength that takes you by surprise.”
