Matilde Oscura Corona

The Matilde Oscura is a blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania filler, held together by an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder and presented with a robust San Andreas wrapper. It delivers remarkable notes of black and white pepper, balanced by a subtle sweetness. As the smoking experience progresses, woody aromas and, at times, coffee notes come to the fore. The flavour seems to open up with every puff, evolving into new layers of complexity. This cigar is therefore an exciting journey through a variety of flavours.

One of the oldest cigar brands in the Dominican Republic

Matilde was founded in 1876 in Santiago de los Caballeros and was one of the first tobacco companies in the Dominican Republic. However, operations were suspended in the early 1900s. In 2014, the brand was revived by the Seijas family. Their first range, the Matilde Renacer, immediately made it into the top 25 best cigars of 2014 and was awarded 92 points.
