Matilde
DESCRIPTION
The Matilde Limited Exposure No. 3 Toro embodies the experimental side of the long-established Matilde brand. The Limited Exposure series was created to showcase exceptional blends produced in small batches. For this third edition, Matilde has placed greater emphasis than usual on Nicaraguan tobacco, combining it with the elegant character of Dominican tobaccos. An Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, a Dominican binder and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua combine to create a medium-bodied premium cigar with balanced spice, natural sweetness and complex aromas.
Matilde Limited Exposure No. 3 Toro, 6 x 50
The Toro measures 6 inches, or approximately 152 mm, and has a ring gauge of 50. With a diameter of approximately 19.8 mm, it offers classic Toro proportions and sufficient length for a continuous development of flavour. The cigar is manufactured in the Dominican Republic by Tabacalera La Isla. A distinctive feature of this edition is the blend of filler tobaccos: Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos are used in equal proportions. This means that No. 3 contains a particularly high proportion of Nicaraguan tobacco within the Matilde portfolio to date.
Dark cocoa, wood and subtle spices
In terms of flavour, the Limited Exposure No. 3 starts off balanced and aromatic. Natural sweetness meets wood, earth and a subtle spiciness. As the smoke progresses, notes of dark cocoa, nuts and coffee develop. These are complemented by creamy nuances, leather and warm baking spices. Independent tastings also describe herbal notes, cedarwood and, in some cases, mineral accents. Towards the end, the woody notes may become drier and more pronounced. Overall, the cigar falls within the medium to medium-full strength range and focuses more on complexity and balance than on sheer strength.
Limited small-batch blend by Matilde
The Limited Exposure No. 3 was produced in very limited quantities. For the original Toro format, just 350 boxes were made, each containing 20 cigars. This edition is therefore aimed particularly at aficionados who appreciate rarer boutique cigars and distinctive blends. The classic Toro format allows the blend ample time to unfold its various facets, ranging from sweetness and creaminess to cocoa, wood and spices. The combination of Dominican elegance and an unusually strong presence of Nicaraguan tobaccos makes this edition a particularly exciting creation from Matilde.
