The Partagás Línea Maestra Origen is a premium Cuban cigar from the prestigious Maestra collection, which was unveiled at the 23rd Habanos Festival in 2023. It combines traditional craftsmanship with an exceptional concept: it is the first line from Habanos S.A. to be made entirely from tobacco sourced exclusively from San Luís in Pinar del Río. Each cigar is presented in an elegant, natural-coloured wooden box with a blue exterior, which stands out thanks to its elegant packaging and the marble-shaped cap (Marble Head).

Origin and size

This classic measures 154 mm with a ring gauge of 46 (Corona Gorda/Bondadosos). The use of pure San Luís tobacco underlines the high standards of quality and provenance that underpin this range. This combination of a select growing region and a distinctive shape lends the cigar its unique visual and flavour profile.

Appearance and craftsmanship

The oily, slightly reddish Cuban wrapper shows only fine veins and is characterised by flawless craftsmanship. The cigar is finished with a distinctive Marble Head, which gives it its characteristic silhouette. The bold blue band harmonises with the packaging and lends the range a modern elegance.

Taste Experience

On a cold draw, a clean aroma of tobacco and hay emerges, which develops into a creamy opening with notes of cappuccino and hazelnut upon lighting. The first third adds notes of wood and cinnamon and exhibits medium strength (3 out of 5). Halfway through, leather notes emerge, accompanied by an even creamier texture and a slight increase in strength. In the final third, the cappuccino transforms into espresso, cinnamon gives way to black pepper, whilst leather, wood and hazelnut linger subtly in the background.

The Origen has received numerous accolades, including 91 points from Cigar Aficionado, which praised it as an “attractive cigar with a reddish wrapper and tapered, belicoso head” and highlighted flavours of cedar, leather, earth and coffee bean with a hint of maple. CigarsLover Magazine even crowned it the best Cuban cigar of 2024 with 93 points, describing its profile as elegant and balanced, with notes of cappuccino, wood and cinnamon.
