About the brand

The Patoro cigar brand was launched in 2001 by Patrick J. Martin and was initially a small, exclusive private label, the name of which was derived from his first name. The ‘Pat’ stands for Patrick, whilst ‘Oro’ comes from the Spanish word for gold. Later, in 2015, the brand received active support from Dr Pablo Richard Schneider, the grandson of the legendary former Davidoff boss Dr Ernst Schneider.

20th anniversary

To mark the brand’s 20th anniversary, the Patoro Terre Blanche cigars were launched in the USA in 2021 and became available in Europe from 2023. Their name refers to the soil in which the tobacco plants grow: ‘Terre Blanche’ is French for ‘white earth’ and refers to the chalky soil of the Cordillera Septentrional in the Dominican Republic. This northern mountain range is also home to the Cibao Valley, a well-known tobacco-growing region in the area. The soil there is rich in calcium and has a light colour, which inspired the cigars’ name.

Elegant complexity

Patoro Terre Blanche cigars use tobacco from the Cibao Valley, grown by Leo Reyes, a highly regarded tobacco farmer. After harvesting, the tobaccos are aged for between 4 and 8 years before being rolled and wrapped in an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper. These cigars are characterised by their elegant complexity and offer aficionados an exceptional smoking experience.
