The legendary ‘ping’ sound

The Ligne 2 lighter collection produces a distinctive and instantly recognisable crystal-clear sound. When the cap is opened, a ‘ping’ is heard. In 1976, the ‘ping’ sound appeared quite by chance in the Ligne 2 lighter collection. However, when it was discovered that many lighters from the Ligne 2 collection were being sent in for servicing after some owners had attempted to ‘perfect’ the sound through ‘minor modifications’, the manufacturing team ultimately decided not to alter the design and construction of the Ligne 2 lighters.
