This cigar brand takes its name from the peninsula in the north-east of the island of Hispaniola, which is shared by the Dominican Republic and Haiti. The filler blend consists of four different tobacco varieties, including three local Olor and Piloto tobaccos and one from Honduras. The binder also comes from the Dominican Republic, whilst the wrapper is a US Connecticut Shade Claro.

Thanks to its delicate and very mild flavour, the Samana is an extremely well-known and popular cigar, particularly suited to beginners and slightly more experienced aficionados. Despite its long presence on the German market, it has faded somewhat into the background, as many new and ‘cool’ cigar brands have since been introduced. The manufacturer of these cigars is the German Oskar Nausch of Tabacalera Don Esteban. Although his tobacco company is rather small, it is characterised by conscientiousness and precision.
