Products of Casa Cuevas
In the 19th century, Juan Cuevas, a Spanish immigrant from Santander, set up a family business that has now spanned four generations. Like others who were fortunate enough to live and work in the Cuban province of Pinar del Río, Juan Cuevas also began growing tobacco and turned it into a successful business.
His son, Juan Jr., followed in his father’s footsteps and successfully continued to run the family business until the events of 1959 forced a dramatic change. Years later, Luis Cuevas Sr., the son of Juan Jr., continued the family tradition of handcrafting fine cigars in the Cibao Valley in the Dominican Republic at the family-owned cigar factory, Tabacalera Las Lavas. Today, Luis Sr., together with his son Luis Jr., is involved in the production and sale of high-quality long-filler cigars at their factory, Tabacalera Las Lavas, in Santiago, Dominican Republic.
And so it came to pass that, after decades of manufacturing premium cigars for renowned brands, it was decided that the time had come to produce and market a high-quality premium cigar bearing the name Cuevas.
