DESCRIPTION
Chacom Pipe Tobacco No. 1 50g Tin is an elegant ‘all-day’ English blend that’s perfect when you’re looking for a genuine tobacco flavour without any fuss. This blend has been deliberately balanced: slow-burning, rich Broken Virginias provide a natural sweetness and a slightly toasty base, whilst mild Black Cavendish makes the smoke noticeably smoother and rounder. A pinch of Oriental tobacco adds a subtle spice and a slightly dry, refined character – whilst Latakia provides the typical, gently smoky depth without turning the blend into a heavy ‘smoke bomb’. The result is a reliable companion for the whole day: aromatic but not overpowering, pleasantly cool and very easy to pack.
All-Day English: balanced rather than overpowering
Chacom No. 1 is often described as an ‘exquisite English pipe tobacco’ that can be enjoyed from start to finish – and that is exactly what you sense as you smoke it. The initial impression is mildly spicy with a subtle smokiness in the background. After that, a greater sense of balance comes into play: Virginia sweetness and a gentle, creamy body (Cavendish) elegantly complement the spicy Oriental notes. Latakia remains a subtle accent, lending depth and a cool structure rather than overpowering the blend. This makes the blend ideal as an introduction to English mixtures – and at the same time a reliable daily blend for experienced pipe smokers seeking something ‘classic’ with good harmony.
Handling & smoking characteristics: straightforward, smooth, consistent
The cut is a ready-rubbed or ribbon/‘mixture’-style cut – in practice, this means it is easy to pack, takes to the ember well and burns evenly. If you let it ‘breathe’ for 5 minutes before packing, lighting it often becomes even easier and the smoke remains particularly cool. The room note is typically English: tobly spiced with a gentle smokiness – pleasant amongst like-minded smokers, but clearly not a dessert-style flavour. Perfect with coffee, black tea or a mild dram in the evening.
