DESCRIPTION
Island Jim is the latest creation from Jim Robinson and his friends at Leaf by Oscar. Leaf by Oscar began as a small boutique project in a tiny shop in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The owner of this shop is the man after whom this cigar is named, Jim Robinson, also known as ‘Island Jim’. Although the launch of Island Jim wasn’t a major event that attracted much attention, this cigar, like the other Leaf by Oscar cigars, is both fascinating and unique.
A typical Leaf by Oscar cigar
In typical Leaf by Oscar fashion, Island Jim is crafted with a rugged, unfinished foot and a very interesting multi-layered cap. Island Jim is available in only one size and format. A beautiful 6 ½ x 52 Torpedo Figurado, aptly named ‘#2’ due to its obvious resemblance to a No. 2 pencil. The packaging and presentation are just as cool as with all other Leaf by Oscar cigars, this time, of course, featuring a typical tropical island motif.
Well-crafted with a razor-sharp burn
Despite its rugged appearance, the Island Jim is an exceptionally well-crafted cigar. Rolled with precision, it delivers a generous amount of smoke, an easy draw and a razor-sharp burn. The cigar opens with rich notes of earth and nuts, the complexity of which increases as you smoke it. Along the way, notes of white pepper, nutmeg and black cherry are easily discernible. A robust, creamy tobacco note is definitely what ties the whole experience together, and every draw ends with a sweet, chocolatey finish. It is medium-bodied, but never overpowering, and quite smooth for such an intense flavour profile.

Schade... wirklich schade!
