Island Jim by Oscar #2 Connecticut

Island Jim is the latest creation from Jim Robinson and his friends at Leaf by Oscar. The Leaf by Oscar began as a small boutique project in a tiny shop in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The owner of this shop is the man after whom this cigar is named, Jim Robinson, also known as "Island Jim". Although the release of Island Jim was not a big event that attracted much attention, this cigar, like the other Leaf by Oscar cigars, is both intriguing and unique.

A typical Leaf by Oscar cigar

In typical Leaf by Oscar style, Island Jim is produced with a jagged, unfinished foot and a very interesting multi-layered cap. Island Jim is only available in one size and format. A beautiful 6 ½ x 52 Torpedo Figurado, aptly named "#2" due to its obvious resemblance to the #2 pencil. The packaging and presentation is just as cool as all the other cigars from Leaf by Oscar, this time of course with a typical tropical island motif.

Well-made with a razor-sharp burn

Despite its rough appearance, the Island Jim is an exceptionally well-made cigar. Rolled with precision, it delivers a large amount of smoke, an easy draw and a razor-sharp burn. The Connecticut wrapper brings notes of grass, nut, coffee and toast. The enjoyment is emphasised by a sweet and very creamy smoke. A fantastic cigar with an unusual appearance.
