JM’s Española is the Tabacalera’s flagship cigar. This Maduro impresses with its full-bodied flavour, a dominant sweetness and impeccable balance. A medium- to full-strength cigar that promises a rich and satisfying smoking experience. The San Andrés wrapper delivers robust flavours and a noticeable sweetness, whilst the Connecticut binder ensures that the strength isn’t allowed to get out of hand. Those who prefer something a little more subtle – and therefore milder – will certainly be just as impressed by the Connecticut version from the same range!

Technisch, optisch und geschmacklich eine Top Zigarre
Die JM's Española Maduro Belicoso ist für mich eine technisch hervorragende Zigarre, die sich gute 4 von 5 Sternen verdient. Sie liegt angenehm in der Hand, wirkt optisch sehr edel und lässt sich völlig entspannt rauchen.
Der Abbrand verlief schön gleichmässig, die Asche war stabil und das Rauchvolumen lag zwischen mittel und reichlich. Der Zugwiderstand war angenehm leicht und die Zigarre drohte zu keinem Zeitpunkt auszugehen - technisch gibt es für mich absolut nichts zu beanstanden.
Positiv ist zudem der moderate Nikotingehalt: Trotz des intensiveren Aromaprofils schlug sie bei mir weder auf den Magen noch in den Kopf.
Geschmacklich sind von Beginn an deutliche Kaffee-, Kakao- und Röstaromen präsent, begleitet von einer angenehmen, leicht würzigen Note, die ich nicht genauer einordnen konnte - evtl. Lakritz. Die angekündigte Süsse konnte ich hingegen überhaupt nicht wahrnehmen. Genau das kostet sie für mich den fünften Stern.
Als Pairing würde ich einen eher milden süssen Gegenpol wählen, beispielsweise einen guten Rum oder Portwein.
