DESCRIPTION

In 1949, the Marzadro family founded their small family-run distillery in Trentino, Italy. Distillation takes place in handcrafted copper stills heated by a Maria Bath. This ensures a slow and gentle distillation process. This ‘Giare’ edition is made from the three typical Amarone grape varieties – Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara – and is then aged for three years in small 500-litre oak casks. With its ‘Giare’ grappa range, Marzadro aims to commemorate the injustices and cruelties suffered by the women in the village of Giare who were accused of witchcraft and ultimately sentenced to death around the year 1646.
