Padre Azul Tequila Añejo 70cl

Padre Azul premium tequila is available in three different ageing levels, as is customary for Mexican agave spirits. The Añejo version was aged for 18 months in oak barrels, developing notes of vanilla, chocolate and cinnamon. The tequila is bottled in a distinctive bottle featuring a laced leather sleeve and a skull-shaped cap weighing 250 grams.

‘Azul’ refers to the ‘blue’ Weber agave from which the tequila is made. The name ‘Padre’ does not mean ‘father’ here, but derives from a popular Mexican expression: ‘que padre’, an exclamation of joyful excitement meaning ‘how fantastic’ or ‘how wonderful’.

The Padre Azul bottles are crowned by a solid metal skull weighing 270 grams, paying homage to the Dia de los Muertos and eternal friendship. The leather cuff with lacing pays tribute to Mexican ‘Lucha Libre’ wrestling masks and also to ‘El Santo’, Mexico’s most famous luchador.
