Padre Azul Tequila Blanco 70cl

Padre Azul premium tequila is available in the ageing categories Blanco, Añejo and Reposado, with the Blanco version being bottled immediately after distillation. This means the tequila retains its clear colour and has a rather mild flavour. The extraordinary bottle, with its laced leather sleeve and a 250-gram skull stopper, is a real eye-catcher and far too good not to be shown off to the occasional guest and/or bar-goer.

‘Azul’ refers to the ‘blue’ Weber agave from which the tequila is made. The name ‘Padre’ does not mean ‘father’ here, but derives from a popular Mexican expression: ‘que padre’, an expression of joyful excitement meaning ‘how fantastic’ or ‘how wonderful’.

The handcrafted bottle was inspired by Mexican heritage and culture. One key aspect of Mexican culture that fascinated the Austrian HP Eder and his compadres was just how much tradition and relationships with family and friends are valued. He wanted to capture that in this bottle.

The Padre Azul bottles are crowned by a solid metal skull weighing 270 grams, paying homage to the Dia de los Muertos and eternal friendship. The leather cuff with lacing pays tribute to Mexican ‘Lucha Libre’ wrestling masks and also to ‘El Santo’, Mexico’s most famous luchador.
