Peterson Pipe Tobacco Early Morning – 50g tin

Peterson Early Morning Pipe Tobacco – 50g tin is a true classic for starting the day – a mild, finely balanced English blend that gently awakens the senses without being overpowering. As a worthy successor to the legendary ‘Dunhill Early Morning Pipe’, this blend features an elegant balance of Virginias, Oriental tobaccos and a deliberately subtle touch of Latakia. The result is a pleasantly cool, aromatic smoking experience that’s ideal for the first pipe of the morning – but works just as well as a light English blend for in between or as a ‘reset’ between stronger blends. In the 50g tin, the tobacco stays fresh for a long time, making it ideal if you’re looking to stock up on a reliable everyday English blend.

Mild English blend with a subtle hint of Latakia

In terms of character, Early Morning Pipe does not focus on the Latakia, but rather on harmony: sweet, light and red Virginias provide a gentle underlying sweetness and a slightly ‘toasty’ base, whilst the Oriental tobaccos add spicy, and at times slightly floral, accents. Here, the Latakia acts more like a spice – it provides a delicate smokiness and depth without making the blend dark or heavy. Many descriptions emphasise precisely this profile: balanced, mild and ideal as the ‘first pipe’ of the day. Important for perfect enjoyment: the moisture content is often described as rather high – allowing it to dry out briefly before filling the pipe can make lighting easier and allow the flavour to come through more clearly. The cut is a typical English mixture/ribbon cut, easy to pack and burns reliably when smoked at a leisurely pace. The room aroma remains classically English: tobly spiced with a hint of smokiness, yet without being unpleasantly overpowering – a blend that works well amongst like-minded smokers (and often at home too).
