Peterson Pipe Tobacco Standard Mixture – 50g tin

Peterson Pipe Tobacco Standard Mixture – 50g tin is a genuine ‘Daily English’ blend for connoisseurs who prefer tobacco in its purest form: smoky and spicy, well-balanced and surprisingly easy to handle. This blend is one of the classic English mixtures now available once again according to the original recipe – featuring toasted Virginias, spicy Oriental tobaccos and a distinctly noticeable proportion of Cypriot Latakia. The result is a full-bodied yet uncluttered smoking experience: dry, elegant and with that characteristic ‘English’ smokiness that so many pipe smokers love about such blends. In the 50g tin, the tobacco stays fresh for a long time and is perfect if you’re looking for a reliable companion for your evening pipe or a stylish blend ‘for any time of day’.

Roasted tobaccos & classic Latakia character

The Peterson Standard Mixture thrives on its balance: Virginia provides a natural, slightly sweet base and a pleasant depth, whilst Turkish Oriental tobaccos contribute an exotic, peppery-spicy note. At its heart is Cypriot Latakia, which acquires its typical woody, smoky character through smoke-drying and gives the blend structure and ‘grip’. Particularly interesting is the light toasting of the Virginia and Oriental tobaccos, which makes the blend seem drier, rounder and more aromatic. When smoked, therefore, you won’t encounter a cloying aromatic charm, but a clear, authentic tobacco flavour: smoke, wood, earth and spice – elegantly interwoven and free from artificial additives. If smoked slowly, the blend feels pleasantly cool and silky; drawing too quickly can – as with many English blends – introduce a hint of sharpness.
