Romeo y Julieta No. 1 Tubos

The No. 1 in Romeo y Julieta’s Alutubos range, alongside the No. 2 and No. 3, forms part of a series that is supplied in practical Alutubos. Until 2003, these cigars were machine-made – today, however, they are made exclusively and entirely by hand. The No. 1 is easy to smoke and is therefore particularly suitable for beginners. The cigar has a balanced flavour profile, and its complexity is kept within limits to ensure a ‘light’ smoking experience.

Romeo y Julieta

Was Winston Churchill a great admirer of the plays by his compatriot William Shakespeare? In any case, Shakespeare’s famous star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, provided the inspiration for the Spanish-language name of the Romeo y Julieta brand. It is one of the oldest brands amongst the top-tier Habanos, with the factory having been in existence since 1875. The brand became world-famous during the early 20th century under the leadership of Don ‘Pepin’ Rodríguez, a talented businessman who was one of the first to recognise the power of cigar bands. During its heyday, no fewer than 20,000 different cigar bands were used in production.

Smoke: Creamy with a subtle sweetness and a medium smoke volume.
Flavour: Earth and wood dominate. Along with a hint of pepper, leather and coffee.
Burn: Good burn
