The Tatuaje cigar brand was founded in 2003 by former heavy metal star Pete Johnson. Together with Don José ‘Pepin’ Garcia, the renowned cigar maker of Cuban origin, and his son Jaime Garcia, the project got off the ground and quickly took on a delightful character. The name ‘Tatuaje’ translates from Spanish as ‘tattoo’.
The finest tobacco for Tatuaje cigars
For Tatuaje cigars, Pete Johnson draws on the finest tobaccos from the best growing regions in Nicaragua. The tobacco varieties used all have Cuban roots and offer plenty of aroma and spice. The brand’s signature aroma includes notes of pepper and coffee.
Tatuaje Cigars – a combination of rock star and tradition
Wildness meets serenity. Tatuaje cigars combine a wild element, courtesy of Pete Johnson, with the Garcia clan’s generations of experience. This is reflected in the cigars themselves, as a blend is only used once both parties have agreed on it. The result is premium cigars that are hard to compare with the competition.
The Tatuaje cigar ranges
With the Tatuaje RC Series, Pete Johnson pays homage to the Cuban roots of his tobacco. The ‘RC’ stands for ‘Retro Cuban’. The Tatuaje RC Series consists of spicy, medium-bodied cigars. With the Tatuaje Black Series, Pete has launched a full-bodied range onto the market. The Tatuaje Nuevitas are crafted according to an old tradition, in which the wrapper ends just before the cigar is finished. This reveals the wrapper leaf underneath.
