Regiments could be distinguished from each other by the different colours of their insignia, so that the commander could quickly gain an overview of the location of his respective special troops. The colours of the regimental pipe, officially titled Chestnut & Gold, were worn on the field by the 22nd Cheshire Foot Regiment, one of the five large British infantry regiments. Now, pipe smokers tend to be peaceful and even-tempered people. They can therefore quickly immerse themselves in an exciting history book with the Regimental and enjoy the long European peace.
