Xiaman Mezcal Artesanal 70cl

Xiaman Mezcal is produced strictly ‘artesanal’, i.e. in accordance with tradition and strict rules. With an alcohol content of 44%, this ‘ensamble’ – a roasted blend of the highest-quality Tepextate and Espadín agave varieties – meets all the requirements of the Mezcal Regulatory Council, the relevant regulatory body.

The process

Xiaman is a blend of two agaves: 50% Tepextate agave and 50% Espadín agave. This blend achieves a perfect balance between the complex aromas of the Tepextate and the rich aromas of the mature Espadín. A blend of two agaves: 50% Tepextate agave and 50% Espadín agave. This blend achieves a perfect balance between the complex flavours of the Tepextate and the rich flavours of the mature Espadín.

Tepextate is a wild agave that takes 25 to 30 years to mature properly, whilst the Espadín agave is ready for harvest in 3 to 8 years.

The bottle – a true work of art!

Designed by master Maurilio Rentería, each hand-painted, labelled and finely frosted bottle made of blown glass, crowned by a stopper covered with Chaquira beads in the shape of a jaguar’s head, is a true work of art, crafted by a group of local artisans from Wixárica.

Xiaman is a completely handcrafted masterpiece, with more than 13 hours of work going into each handcrafted bottle. Each of the 500 bottles in every batch is carefully numbered and signed by our master mezcalier.

This makes every bottle a valuable collector’s item, the result of the hard work and talent of proud Mexican hands.
