Dictador 12-year-old rum 70cl

Dictador Solera 12-year-old rum is produced using a continuous distillation process in a stainless-steel still. As with most types of rum, the raw material is molasses, a by-product produced during the boiling of sugar cane. After being transferred to casks, the rum is aged for 12 years in used oak casks using the solera system. This involves stacking several tiers of casks on top of one another. The bottom casks contain the oldest rum. Around a third of this is drawn off and replaced with younger rum. When the top row is empty, new rum is added.

The rum produced in this way has a deep amber colour with reddish hues. The aroma is *intense, with notes of caramel, honey, dried seeds, roasted coffee and oak. The flavour is gentle, with notes of caramel, cocoa, a hint of coffee and honey, as well as traces of oak.
