Don Papa Rum 7 Years 70cl

Although the Philippines is the world’s third-largest consumer of rum, the rum produced and sold here is mostly relatively cheap and of low quality. Steve Carroll wanted to change this and launched his Don Papa rum in 2011, which is matured for seven years in charred and burnt-out oak casks – made by the distillery itself – as well as in ex-bourbon casks. The base product for Don Papa is sugarcane juice from the high-quality sugarcane of the Negros region, which has the highest sugar content in the world. Following fermentation and column distillation, the distillate is blended with spring water and then matures in the warm, humid climate before being bottled in the attractive bottles.
