DESCRIPTION

The name of this rum comes from the sailing ship "Kirk and Sweeney", which was primarily known for smuggling rum from the Caribbean to the north-east of the USA in the early years of American Prohibition. The rum is produced by the company 35 Maple Street Spirits north of San Francisco. The shape of the bottle is reminiscent of the wide-bellied onion bottles of the 18th century, which, wrapped in hemp netting, could be easily hung up and transported by ship. An old nautical chart showing the main rum smuggling routes is also printed on the bottle. The "Kirk and Sweeney 12 Years" impresses with its aroma characterised by vanilla and oak wood.
