H. Upmann Magnum 50

The Magnum 50 by H. Upmann is a stately cigar with what we consider to be the perfect size. Its generous volume allows the flavours to unfold beautifully and underpins this with a decent strength, without ever becoming overpowering. After a leisurely start, the strength gradually increases, reaching a medium level by the end. The draw is excellent, and the delicate aromas of dried fruit, spices and the brand’s characteristic, rather earthy notes will delight even the most discerning connoisseur.

Hermann Upmann: from banker to cigar maker

Hermann Upmann was a banker from Germany who loved Cuban cigars so much that he moved to Havana in 1844, where he subsequently worked as both a banker and a cigar manufacturer. His bank had to close shortly after 1920, but his cigars live on as an excellent example of a Habano ranging from mild to medium in strength. The key to Upmann’s success was his commitment to delivering nothing but first-class quality. H. Upmann Habanos were renowned for their packaging in elegant boxes made from Spanish cedar, complete with a guarantee and Hermann Upmann’s signature – production took place, and continues to take place, in Havana.
