Products of Saint Luis Rey
The Saint Luis Rey cigar brand was launched just before the Second World War. Some claim that the brand name refers to Thornton Wilder’s play *The Bridge of San Luis Rey*, which was popular at the time. It is more likely, however, that it is dedicated to the town of San Luis in the heart of the Vuelta Abajo, where excellent wrappers for Habanos are still produced to this day.
Whatever the truth may be, Saint Luis Rey Habanos enjoy an excellent reputation among aficionados due to the cigars’ intense flavour. They are made from filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo tobacco-growing region.
