Bohemian No. 1 The Martini Cocktail 37.5% 700ml

It is often referred to as the ‘King of Cocktails’ and is regarded as a close relative of the Martinez – the MARTINI COCKTAIL. Since its inclusion in the Bartender’s Manual in 1888, it has been the subject of as many stories about its origins as there are different recipes. 

After the first Martinis were combined with sweet vermouth, the dry variety gained popularity in the early 20th century , thereby influencing the classic MARTINI COCKTAIL. Today, gin and dry vermouth form the preferred combination. 

Traditionally, this timeless short drink is best enjoyed in a pre-chilled martini glass. A green olive or the zest of an untreated lemon rounds off the drink. The zest is added to the drink as a garnish after the essential oils it contains have been released by twisting the zest. The olive can be served separately in the MARTINI COCKTAIL or .

Tasting Notes

Colour: Pale straw yellow.
Aroma: A playful interplay of juniper with a hint of exotic fruits, notes of liquorice and a subtle hint of freshly ground pepper.
Taste: Dry and tart with sweet undertones, spicy on the palate with notes of violets and berries, a distinct hint of gin, harmoniously complemented by vermouth, which lends the mouthfeel an elegant, wine-like character.

Overall: Alovely balance of gin and vermouth, with a refreshing, spicy character.

Preparation

Pour into a mixing glass filled with ice cubes, stir well and strain into a martini glass. Add a garnish to the drink. To finish, lightly mist the cocktail with the aroma sprayer.
