Bohemian No. 2 The Old Fashioned 37.0% 700ml

Given its name, it’s hardly surprising that this cocktail is said to have originated in the 18th century. When enjoying an OLD FASHIONED, however, there’s no need to simply reminisce about the old days – you’re living them! 

A drink which, despite its name, is anything but old-fashioned, yet was one of the last to be revitalised by the cocktail renaissance of the 1920s. Originally, a sugar cube was soaked in a few dashes of Angostura bitters and dissolved, the whisky was added, and the glass was filled with ice. Back then, the OLD FASHIONED was finished off with a splash of soda: a classic that speaks for itself with its nostalgic sepia hue and its name. 

Today, this creation – made with bourbon, sugar syrup and aromatic bitters – is served in a tumbler with ice. The drink is moistened with the essential oils of an orange zest and finally garnished with it.

Tasting Notes

Colour: radiant caramel
Aroma: intense fruity aromas, notes of vanilla, rich in sweet spices and toasted aromas of new oak, toasty, with hints of blood oranges, enticing with dried herbs.
Taste: Captivating notes of oak and tart fruit, full-bodied on the palate, with a hint of candied peel, slightly bitter with sweet and spicy notes, hints of freshly roasted coffee and cedar wood.
Finish: Long and spicy, strong notes of cinnamon, spices and smoky oak caress the palate, with a lingering hint of blood orange.
Overall: Wonderfully rich and spicy – an intense Old Fashioned.

Preparation

into a tumbler filled with ice cubes and stir well. Add a garnish to the drink. To finish, lightly mist the cocktail with the aroma sprayer once .
