Bonpland Rouge Rum 50cl

With Ferdinand’s Gin, the Avadis Distillery in the Saarland launched a gin to which wine had been added via steam infusion. Now, three years later, the distillery is launching Bonpland Rum, once again focusing on its speciality: the rum is aged in barrels that previously held German wines. Bonpland Rum is based on a blend from Trinidad, Jamaica, Guyana, Guatemala and Nicaragua. After being cask-aged for several months in its countries of origin, it is then given a finish lasting several months in selected wine casks in Germany. In the case of Bonpland Rouge, this takes place in Pinot Noir wine casks from the estates of Friedrich Becker (Pfalz) and Bernhard Huber (Baden).

Tasting Notes:
Colour: Dark amber.
Nose: Berries, sweet
Palate: Aromas of chocolate, raisins and red berries. Has a dry finish.
