La Aurora was founded on 3 October 1903 by Eduardo León Jimenes, a hard-working man whose family had been involved in tobacco cultivation for two generations. He decided to take things a step further by creating a cigar brand that would have a global reach. Eduardo was 18 years old at the time and, having inherited a few ‘tareas’ of land, set about realising his dream with a small team of six people, great enthusiasm and a great deal of hard work. Today, more than a hundred years later, La Aurora is present on all five continents and employs more than a thousand people.
