Avo Uvezian, a charismatic jazz musician and passionate cigar smoker, was born in 1926 in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. In the 1980s, Avo, who was of American-Armenian descent, decided to create his own cigar range. Following Avo’s death in 2017, production passed to Hendrik Kelner, the manufacturer behind other renowned brands such as Davidoff and Zino.

The AVO Classic thus represents a harmonious union of two cigar legends – AVO Uvezian and master blender Hendrik Kelner. Their collaboration has resulted in an unforgettable cigar experience characterised by balance, enjoyment and exceptional flavour.

A harmonious blend

In an unforgettable way, the AVO Classic embodies Avo Uvezian’s philosophy: ‘Cigars in Perfect Harmony’. And it is precisely this harmony that can be recognised in the four exquisite, classic sizes: No. 2, No. 5, No. 9 and Robusto. They unfold mild yet delicately spicy notes, which are largely attributable to the Connecticut wrapper and the many years of ageing the filler has undergone. The AVO Classic range offers both loyal aficionados and newcomers an unforgettable smoking experience.

The No. 2 is a stately Toro format with a ring gauge of 50 and is surpassed in length by the slightly slimmer Grand Corona format of the No. 5. The No. 9 is produced in the Corona Extra format, with the suffix ‘Extra’ indicating the slightly larger ring gauge. The Robusto rounds off the AVO quartet beautifully.
