The leaves are then air-dried in the Kentucky air until they glow a rich golden yellow. The tobacco then acquires its unique smoky flavours during a second, special smoke-curing process: Dark Fired Smoke Cured. To achieve this, the tobacco is hung in smoke barns above smouldering oak and hickory wood, allowing it, leaf by leaf, to absorb those uniquely toasty, smoky flavours that make it so special.
