Bribon
DESCRIPTION
The Bribón Toro presents the Colombian brand’s classic blend in a generous size, offering a particularly creamy smoke and a long-lasting aroma. This handcrafted premium cigar is produced in Barichara and combines an H-2000 wrapper from Ecuador with Cubita tobaccos from Montes de María. The ring gauge of 54 makes it the widest of the classic Bribón vitolas and lends the smoke plenty of body. On the palate, it reveals notes of coffee, chocolate and fresh hay, before developing into cocoa, cardamom and darker roasted flavours as it progresses. Despite its imposing size, the Toro remains pleasantly mild and harmonious.
Bribón Toro in the generous 6 x 54 format
With a length of 6 inches (around 152 mm) and a ring gauge of 54, the Toro has a diameter of approximately 21.4 mm. Thanks to the greater volume of tobacco, it burns slowly and can remain pleasantly cool when smoked at a leisurely pace. At the same time, the substantial ring gauge produces a dense and creamy smoke. Bribón states a smoking time of more than an hour, up to approximately 90 minutes. The box of 10 is therefore ideal for connoisseurs who prefer a leisurely smoke with mild intensity.
Coffee, chocolate and cardamom
Coffee and chocolate take centre stage at the outset. Fresh hay adds a light and natural touch, whilst the creamy smoke gently blends the flavours together. As the smoke progresses, cocoa becomes more pronounced and cardamom introduces a subtle exotic spice. Towards the end, notes of liquorice, earth and wood may emerge. Some tastings also describe notes of nut, leather and a subtle natural sweetness. The aromatics remain present without becoming overpowering or bitter.
A long and creamy smoke from Colombia
The Toro is particularly suited to connoisseurs who appreciate a generous smoke volume and a slow development of flavour, yet are not looking for a heavy cigar. Its size brings out the softer side of the Cubita tobacco particularly well. Coffee, chocolate and cocoa provide classic roasted flavours, whilst hay and cardamom lend the cigar its distinctive Colombian character. This makes the Toro a versatile companion for a long afternoon or a relaxed evening.
