Horacio Maduro, available in the H0, H1, H5, H6 and H8 formats, is exactly the right choice if you’re looking for a modern Maduro blend that’s intense and aromatic – yet remains well-balanced. The range is renowned for its dark, oily wrapper and delivers a rich, creamy smoking experience with distinct flavour notes: cocoa, coffee/beans and wood alternate throughout the smoke, creating a delightful, ‘dark’ profile that works superbly both in the afternoon and after a meal.

Blend & Origin: Ecuador meets Nicaragua and Costa Rica

For the Maduro range, Horacio uses an H-2000 wrapper from Ecuador, which delivers the typical Maduro character (dark, oily, soft). Beneath this lies a Nicaraguan binder, whilst the filler consists of tobaccos from Nicaragua and Costa Rica. This combination achieves exactly the right balance: Nicaraguan spice and structure, complemented by a harmonious, slightly sweet depth that goes down particularly well with Maduro fans. The strength is often described as ‘medium’ or moderate – rich in flavour, yet well-controlled.

Five sizes – one character, different moments of enjoyment

The Maduro range has been deliberately designed so that you can find the right size for every occasion: H0 is the large size for a long evening – plenty of smoke, plenty of time and a particularly broad range of flavours. H1 offers a similar style, but feels slightly more compact and is very well-balanced. H5 is the ‘Magnum-Short’ type: bold in appearance, quick to develop its aroma, ideal for a leisurely break. H6 stands out thanks to its short, very large ring gauge and offers a supremely creamy mouthfeel with dense smoke – a real statement format. Tasting tip

Maduro cigars reward a leisurely pace: draw slowly so that the creamy cocoa and woody notes remain distinct. Espresso, a smooth rum or a spicy whisky pair particularly well. And: thanks to the oily wrapper, these cigars often benefit from a spell in the humidor – this makes them even more well-rounded.
