La Batalla 1762 Robusto

This cigar is dedicated to the battle for the fortress of El Castillo on the River San Juan in 1762. The English wanted to attack the fortress and help themselves to the Spaniards' gold. The daughter of the fortress commander, Rafaela Herrera (only 19 years old at the time), who had died just a few days before the attack, successfully defended the fortress and hit the enemy commander with the third cannon shot, thus winning the battle. The fortress was repeatedly attacked by pirates, but the thick walls withstood the attacks time and again. But here is the whole story:

Battle of El Castillo

The battle for the fortress of El Castillo on the San Juan River in Nicaragua took place in 1762. An English fleet with 50 boats and a total of 2,000 soldiers and allies wanted to attack and conquer the fortress, as it was suspected that the Spanish had stored gold there.
The 19-year-old daughter of the fortress commander, who had died just 11 days before the attack, successfully defended the castillo (40 x 20 metres) with cannons, with the third shot hitting the enemy commander and thus winning the battle. The castillo was repeatedly attacked by pirates, but the 4 metre thick walls and the very robust corner towers withstood every attack.

Leather & chocolate

The Robusto with a wrapper leaf (Habano Maduro) from Ecuador and a binder leaf and various fillers from Nicaragua offers a pleasant smoking experience with notes of leather and chocolate.
