La Galera
DESCRIPTION
For the blend of the La Galera Imperial Jade, Jose “Jochy” Blanco opted for the hard-to-find and highly sought-after wrapper from Cameroon, Africa. This is the first time he has used a Cameroonian wrapper for a La Galera cigar. The wrapper is renowned for its suppleness, beauty and flavour, but it is a thin and rather stiff tobacco leaf, which makes it difficult to work with. However, this has not prevented Jochy and his experienced rollers from creating a first-class cigar.
A labour-intensive wrapper
Cigars with a Cameroonian wrapper are rare, and for good reason. The seeds for this tobacco variety are susceptible to disease, yield little, and are grown in Cameroon, a Central African republic where there is a shortage of experienced producers and skilled staff for the further processing of the tobacco. The lack of tobacco expertise in Cameroon means extra work for the Tabacalera Palma factory. As soon as the tobacco arrives from Cameroon, it must undergo additional processing.
Red chilli with a subtle sweetness
The red chilli is one of the flavours that stands out in this cigar, even though it is not a peppery cigar. This is a good indication that the Cameroon wrapper contributes to the cigar’s flavour profile. As the cigar progresses, an initially hidden sweetness emerges. The creamy and earthy flavours remain rather subtle throughout the entire smoking experience.

Bin dabei
