La Unica
DESCRIPTION
Since 1986, La Unica cigars have offered outstanding value for money in the premium cigar market, unrivalled in the industry. As with many classics, the La Unica Dominican Primeros also had humble beginnings. Decades ago, even before the cigar boom, the patriarch of the J.C. Newman Cigar Company, Stanford J. Newman, challenged his good friend Carlos Fuente Sr. with an idea that had never before been tried in the cigar industry. To develop a rich, flavourful and superb-tasting premium cigar and package it in an inexpensive cellophane bundle, without the expensive boxes and trimmings that are standard with other premium cigars. Up until that point, factories had only ever packaged their ‘seconds’ in bundles.
Premium cigars in cellophane bundles
Carlos selected the sizes and Stanford approved the blend – a combination of Cuban seed and Dominican long-filler tobacco, specially aged for maximum flavour and smoothness. Skillfully hand-rolled with a delicate Connecticut Shade (light natural wrapper) or a dark, rich Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper (Maduro), Carlos brought Stanford’s vision to life. Within six months, La Unica became the best-selling premium bundle cigar in America.
The same cigar, but presented in an elegant wooden box
Today, La Unica preserves the brand’s history with the original 1986 blend and its smooth, rich flavour. These exceptional cigars have now outgrown their bundle days and are elegantly packaged in bespoke cedarwood boxes of 20. Despite the sophistication of the packaging, La Unica has not strayed from its roots or the original hand-selected, perfectly aged tobacco blend that makes La Unica such a favourite.

Super gut
