Oliva Robusto Variety 5

Oliva is one of the biggest names in the US for outstanding cigars. With several generations of experience in the tobacco business, the Oliva family’s cigars are synonymous with perfectly crafted puros from Nicaragua.
The Oliva family originally hailed from Cuba, where they ran high-yield tobacco farms. The fields were in San Juan, right next to those of Hoyo de Monterrey. The revolution in the 1960s brought an abrupt end to their own tobacco plantations and drove the third generation into exile. But not without a few detours. The relatively short journey to Estelí in Nicaragua, where the Olivas now own some of the largest tobacco farms, ultimately took them halfway around the world. One of the hallmarks of Oliva cigars is that they are made almost 100 per cent from tobacco grown on their own fields. This includes all the Nicaraguan H-wrappers for the V Series and the O Series.
