The legendary "ping" sound

The Ligne 2 lighter collection emits a characteristic and instantly recognisable crystal-clear sound. When the lid is opened, a "ping" is heard. in 1976, the "ping" sound appeared purely by chance in the Ligne 2 lighter collection. However, when it was realised that many lighters in the Ligne 2 collection had been sent in for servicing after some owners had tried to perfect the sound by making "minor changes", the manufacturing team finally decided not to change the design and construction of the Ligne 2 lighters.
